London underground station EVACUATED as passenger ‘SHOVED onto live tracks during FIGHT’

POLICE have rushed to evacuate a west London tube station after a passenger was shoved onto live tracks.

A crime scene is in place at Barons Court station in west London after the horrific incident.

One man has been arrested at the scene after a fight allegedly broke out on the platform.

In a statement, British Transport Police said: “At approximately 11.15pm on Sunday evening, officers were called to Barons Court station after reports of an assault resulting in a person falling onto the tracks.

“Police were quickly on scene and a man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

He has been taken into custody as enquiries continue.”

Police said a number of enquiries are underway to find out exactly what happened.

Fellow passengers on the platform described how the man was forcibly pushed onto the live track on the Piccadilly line.

District line trains also pass through the station close to Hammersmith.

Transport for London closed off nearby Gliddon Road at the junction with Great West Road as they responded to the incident.
